Sampling Standardisation of the Coal Dust Feeding the Power Boiler Burners
Energetyka 2002, No. 6, p. 349, 3 figs, 2 tabs, 8 refs.Optimisation of the fuel combustion process in the power boilers fed with coal dust is tied with the inspection of the coal grinding and inspection of the uniformity of the fuel distribution to the particular boiler burners.
Only methodology of the coal dust sampling for further granulometric analyses has been a subject of standardisation. In the paper there is assessed critically the international standard ISO 9931:1991, as well as the Polish standard PN-91/M-34131 and is proved a necessity of elaboration of the new Polish standard compatible to the ISO standard with regard to the equipment and taking into account requirements arisen from common introduction into the power industry the low emission combustion technology.

Failures of HP Boiler Elements Made of Low-Carbon and Low-Alloy Steels Affected by the Water
Energetyka 2002, No. 6, p. 354, 15 figs, 2 tabs, 22 refs.
There are presented data from the analysis of corrosion and mechanical failures of elements of HP boilers in thermal power stations and CHP stations. Reasons and mechanisms of the failure occurrence under water influence are also presented. Special attention is paid to a role of the hydrogen in the failures and thermodynamic conditions of the metal-environment system.

Pulse Sparking Voltage of the Chain of Standard Cap and Pin Insulators and with Semiconducting Glaze
Energetyka 2002, No. 6, p. 360, 9 figs, 3 tabs, 9 refs.
There are presented test results of chains of the pin and cap insulators containing in a half - stabilised insulators and in other half - glass insulators. In such chains there is no losses of energy, so they are more efficient than chains containing stabilised insulators only.

Methodology for the Gravimetric Measurement of the Concentration and Mass of the Coal Dust Feeding the Power Boiler Burners
Energetyka 2002, No. 6, p. 364, 1 figs, 7 refs.
Dissemination of the low-emission combustion technologies create a necessity to make wider an inspection scope of the fuel preparation system by the quality and quantity assessment of the coal dust and air transporting the coal dust to particular power boiler burners. This problem is not taken into account in present standards (PN-91/M-34131, ISO 9931:1991). A methodology of the measurements described in the paper can be treated as a proposition of a new subject of standardisation.

Ecological Aspects of Electricity Generation. Conclusions of the SEP Conference in November 2001
Energetyka 2002, No. 6, p. 377, 4 tabs, 18 refs.
The international conference on the ecological aspects of the electricity generation was organised by the Association of Polish Electrical Engineers (SEP), Committee of the Power Industry Problems of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Power Engineering. The debates went on in six following sessions: World tendencies of the power industry development and prospects for the development in Poland; Obligations for the environment protection concerning the coal and gas fuelled power stations, nuclear power stations and renewable energy sources; Technologies of the electricity generation and their connection with the environment protection; Comparison analysis of the influence of the electricity generation on health and environment; Economic problems of considered electricity generation options; Balanced development of the power industry. There are given comprehensive conclusions.

Greenhouse Effect and Climate Changes
Energetyka 2002, No. 6, p. 385, 13 refs.
Global warming is a subject of many years discussions. Never are proved climate changes dangerous for the mankind and that the greenhouse effect is responsible for changes in the climate. There are no proofs also that industrial activity influences the green-house effect magnitude. However, lack of proofs is no unequivocal negation.
