Quality of Frequency and Active Power Control in Power System Regions
Energetyka 2002,no.12,p.885,
(IASE Bulletin,p.1),1 figs,7 refs.
Use of the observer module in the secondary automatic control (LFC) for prediction of the power change in a power system region can reduce costs of the control at fulfilment of the UCTE and NERC criteria of the control quality.

Inspection of the Operation of the LV and MV Grid Sub-Regions
Energetyka 2002,no.12,p.890,
(IASE Bulletin,p.6),3 figs,9 refs.
Presented is use of the NETPAF measurement-communication system for supervision of LV grids operation and supervision and optimisation of MV grids. The worked-out system enables also to assess technical and commercial losses in the LV grids.

Minimal Probability of Electricity Losses Born by Generators in Balancing Markets
Energetyka 2002,no.12,p.896,
(IASE Bulletin,p.12),8 figs,10 refs.
An objective of the paper is to define a minimal probability of losses of electric energy generators in the Polish balancing market.A situation before and after 1 July 2002 is analysed.

How Effective Forecasting Help Consumers to Administer a Portfolio in the Balancing Market
Energetyka 2002,no.12,p.900,
(IASE Bulletin,p.16),5 figs,5 refs.
Differentiation of the account settling prices in the balancing market causes that each participant, who can not be able to balance the demand effectively,is menaced for great losses.Simulations are done in the paper and they show effects of not precise demand forecasts, calculated as costs of participation in the balancing market. The simulations are worked-out with the use of the original BMA programme (Balancing Market Analyser).

Time Series Method in Prediction Problems of Demand and Control Deviation Signal in Market Conditions
Energetyka 2002,no.12,p.903,
(IASE Bulletin,p.19),3 figs,6 refs.
Presented are ways of use the time series methods for forecasting the processes, essential for power companies.Models, algorithms and prediction results of electric energy demand and signal of control deviation are briefly discussed.

(Pro Novum Bulletin,p.16),4 figs, 12 refs.
Experience of the Pro Novum in the field of diagnostics enables to state that majority of long time operated pipelines have distinctly weak links. For such pipelines in the Pro Novum there is elaborated a procedure of partial exchange of elements, which is an alternative solution of the problem what to do further with pipelines after 200 000 h of operation.Presented procedure is practically used for several years.

Usefulness of Destructive Tests for Forecasting the Life Time of HP Steam Pipelines
Energetyka 2002,no.12,p.929,
(Pro Novum Bulletin,p.20),2 figs,4 tab., 11 refs.
Negative opinion on the usefulness of the of destructive tests for the assessment of technical state of steam pipelines operating in the creeping conditions does not mean an appeal for total resignation from them. They ought to be one of elements of knowledge widening where they do not cause failure and necessity of removing tested element from operation.

Calculations of Durability of Steam Pipeline Elements Operating above 150 000 h
Energetyka 2002,no.12,p.947,
(Pro Novum Bulletin,p.38),1 figs,2 tabs, 5 refs.
A durability of particular pipeline elements is not uniform and amounts to 150 000 -300 000 h.It arises from use of not proper calculations of wall thickness,i.e.concerning straight sectors only, without taking into account coefficients of the stress concentration in such elements as T-pipes,four way pieces, reducing pipes, elbows and adjoining welds.
