Economic effectiveness of a 370 MW coal-fired power block modernization to cogeneration and dual fuel gas-steam combined-cycle system
Energetyka 2010, nr 10, p. 641
Presented incremental methodology allows to comfortably analyse the economic effectiveness of a power plant modernization to cogeneration and dual fuel gas-steam combined cycle system. Ascertained is, as a result of an analysis carried out in this particular case, that thermodynamic and economic effectiveness of power plant modernization to cogeneration is very big. On the other hand, modernization to coal-gas dual fuel system supplied with imported gas, with or without adaptation of a block for cogeneration and with the present price relations between energy carriers, is economically unjustified (while energy efficiency is really big).

Copenhagen – what lies ahead?
Energetyka 2010, nr 10, p. 652
Recent years have brought demand for greater political commitment and total review of our generation and consumption practices. Limited agreement reached at the Copenhagen Climate Summit in December 2009 is an example that speaks for itself.. All nations of the world are being urged to act quickly to review targets, envisaging the problem resulting from the hitherto activities that are deemed insufficient.

Test systems for the needs of harmonics analysis in supply systems containing power active filters (debate article)
Energetyka 2010, nr 10, p. 656
Presented are literature review results concerning utilization of models of power systems fragments for the analysis of higher harmonics propagation in current and voltage runs. The additional aim of this article is to engage the Readers in polemics concerning the lack of Polish elaborations of test systems for the needs of an analysis of this problem. It is really important, as the lack of such systems in future will result in inability to compare results of the newly elaborated methods related to the analysis and of the methods concerning improvement of electric energy quality.

Technical and economic analysis of a coal fired district heating station development project consisting in adding a biomass fired heat-and-power block
Energetyka 2010, nr 10, p. 661
Presented is technical and economic analysis of a project concerning development of a hard coal-fired district heating station by means of adding a new biomass-fired heat-and-power block. Application potential of such projects in the Polish power system is estimated to be on the level of at least several dozens in the scope of various thermal capacities. Similar solutions can be also applied in combined heat-and-power stations.
