Energy policy instruments
Energetyka 2010, nr 9, p. 569
Presented is a short review of the literature on instruments applied for realization of an energy policy. Given is their classification and the critical Radetzki's review taking into consideration their efficiency and usefulness for various goals. Described are elaborations dedicated to the research of some definite instruments applied in definite conditions. Discussed are factors influencing the instruments' efficiency. Separately considered are instruments oriented on energy consumers in municipal sector – shown is their low efficiency due to many paradoxes existing in relationships between the community and energy industry.

New generating powers in Poland in the light of the EU regulations
Energetyka 2010, nr 9, p. 578
Described is the present condition and development of the domestic sector of electric energy generation in the light of the EU climate and energy package. Shown is, against a background of the anticipated increase in demand for electric energy until the year 2020, the expected fuel structure of our domestic electric power industry with the task to achieve 20% reduction of CO2 emission. Radical increase in participation of renewable energy sources and gas and implementation of nuclear power is needed. Advisable is also an increase in natural gas participation.

The Globe in an energy trap
Energetyka 2010, nr 9, p. 583
The analysis of energy capability of many individual primary energy resources shows that none of the hitherto applied methods of energy generation allows for elimination of a global energy crisis threat to our civilisation. The present level of nuclear energy development, based on energy from nuclear fission, does not allow to look safely into the future, either. Present situation in Poland makes it necessary from one side to implement nuclear energy as a reliable and relatively cheap energy source, especially the electric one, and from the other side, to develop renewable technologies of energy generation and conversion in a synergic combination with the development of energy-saving technologies applied for utilization of all kinds of energy.

Development of Project Engineer function – Energopomiar keyservice rendered
to investors in power industry
Energetyka 2010, nr 9, p. 598
As the years go by, the organization of investment processes has been changing together with organizational change in the power sector and number of investment projects in Poland. Against this background there is presented an outline of tasks realized within the framework of Project Engineer services rendered to power installation investors.

Energopomiar for environmental protection
Energetyka 2010, nr 9, p. 600
Presented is the beginning and development of Energopomiar activities run in all basic spheres of environmental protection. Discussed are the current goals: air protection, including measurements of dust and gas emission as well as desulphurization and denitrogenization of flue gas; utilization of power plants' wastes; water protection; protection against noise and also consulting services for the realization of pro-ecological projects financed from the EU funds.

Activity of Chemistry and Diagnostics Division in the sixth decade of Energopomiar existence
Energetyka 2010, nr 9, p. 612
Presented is realization of new service directions considering the actual needs of power industry, industrial power producers and heat engineering. Discussed is development of these services and given are examples of achievements in the range of physical chemistry mesurements, water and sewage technology, etching and cleaning of installations (mainly boilers) and also in the range of material diagnostics concerning their technical condition.

Benchmarking as a tool for quality improvement of electric energy supplies
Energetyka 2010, nr 9, p. 617
Presented are selected results of benchmarking research of the Polish distribution system operators obtained during realization of the project „Research, elaboration and publishing of the Polish benchmarking report concerning quality of electric energy supplies for consumers connected to transmission and distribution lines" as well as justification for the thesis that such research and publications are the tool for quality improvement of electric energy supplies.

Approximate analysis of the type OP-650 boiler conversion possibility and efficiency for 100% biomass combustion (debate article)
Energetyka 2010, nr 9, p. 623
A feasibility study of the type OP-650 hard coal-fired boiler conversion to biomass combustion is carried out. Boilers of this type, that have already had their days, can greatly contribute to the improvement of a power station economic parameters. Costs of conversion can be refunded even in two years time.
