Australia - the Host of the World Energy Congress
Energetyka 2005, No. 2, p. 67, figs 8, refs 13
Australia is one of six greatest countries in the world. This is a continent 25 times greater than Poland, but occupied merely by 20 million inhabitants. Australia was colonised by Great Britain in XVIII century, at present it is industrially-agriculturally well developed country. In the days 5. - 9. of September 2004 in Sydney took place 19. World Energy Congress organised by the World Energy Council (WEC). The most important conclusion of the World Energy Congress is that it is possible to create sustainable power systems, but there exist many menaces to face them and react speedily.

Possible Influence of Emission Trade on the Security of the Power System Operation
Energetyka 2005, No. 2, p. 76, fig. 1, tabs 3, refs 11
Characterised are more important issues concerning new problems of the CO2 emission trade, very substantial ones for great number of power companies. Discussed are chosen elements presenting CO2 emission by domestic sectors obliged to participate in the emission trade since January 2005. Among these sectors substantial importance play generators of electricity and heat for heating systems (power stations, CHP stations and heating plants). Substantial elements of the emission trade are presented mainly on the base of the EU legislation.

Robotization in technology of Live Line Works
Energetyka 2005, No. 2, p. 89, figs 18, refs 5
Development of the live line work technology proceeds as a result of search for effective technologies improving security for the operating personnel in electric power industry and enabling continuous energy delivery, expected by customers using equipment requiring operation every day, round the clock. Robotization of live line works is for almost twenty years a subject of works mainly in the USA, Japan, Canada, Spain Italy and France. Great failures in Three Miles Island and Czarnobyl nuclear power stations, effects of WTC terrorist attack make clear that there are many situations, the robots can be used in.

Asset Securitization as a New Method of Financing Development Efforts of Energy Distribution Companies
Energetyka 2005, No. 2, p. 105, figs 2, tabs 4, refs 15
It is to be expected that the nearest future will bring substantial increase of demand of Polish power companies on financial means indispensable for complex restructuring processes. Asset securitization is a popular form of company financing in Europe and the USA. A success the asset securitization arises from the fact that this technique creates many possibilities to adapt transaction design to individual needs of the Initiator.

Conception of the Energy Self-sufficient Building
Energetyka 2005, No. 2, p. 113, figs 4, tabs 8, refs 12
In the paper is made an analysis of effects and possibilities of use renewable energy sources for supply of a family residence building.
The building is equipped with local ventilation with heat recuperation. There is designed a heating system with the heat pump and solar collectors as the heat source. The photovoltaic system is used for electricity supply. It co-operates with electric power grid. The analysis proves that energy sources installed in the building can cover the energy demand in 78%. Obviously, emission of greenhouse gases is additionally limited. However, the investment of the renewable energy sources is not efficient financially. Period of simple return of investment expenses amounts to 76 years.
