Investigation of Cooling and Re-circulation of Heating Grid Water in CHP Stations
Energetyka 2005, No. 7, p. 439, 15 figs
The subject of the investigations, which results are presented in the paper, is an influence of the additional cooling and re-circulation of the heating water in the heating part of the CHP station on achieved electric output and technical and economic indices. A simplified model for this purpose is prepared and it is tested with the use of measurement results from the real system; the calculations serving as an example are made.

Centre of Hydrostatic Lift of Oil Film and Stability of Swinging Plate in Hydrogenerator Thrust Bearing at Modernised Manner of Hydrostatic Lubrication
Energetyka 2005, No. 7, p. 449, 7 figs
Presented and discussed are problems of the centre of the hydrostatic lift of the oil film and stability of the swinging plate in the hydrogenerator thrust bearing with the use of the modernised manner of the hydrostatic lubrication aimed for an increase of the hydrodynamic lubrication efficiency. Presented is the way of working out the tests and their results, compared are the test results of the plates with one or two lubricating cavities.

Power Boiler Start-up Using Plasma
Energetyka 2005, No. 7, p. 456, 8 figs, 3 tabs, 23 refs
The use of the thermal plasma in the power industry for the start-up of the power boilers fuelled with the coal dust and for the stabilisation of the combustion process is possible and it seems to be encouraging. Advantages arise from the elimination of the additional fuel for the boiler and from decreasing the arduousness of the kindling system for the environment. However, implementation of this new start-up system in the domestic conditions requires wide tests at least in half-technical scale.

Polish Power Industry 2005
Energetyka 2005, No. 7, p. 465, 4 figs, 6 tabs, 7 refs
There is made an attempt to analyse in general the situation in the Polish power industry in the first half of the year 2005 and to answer on this background the question of its future. The author assumes that without the knowledge of the development directions in the power industry there is not possible to shape operational strategies for transformers and vice versa, without knowledge of possibilities of transformer security management during the transformer operation process it is not possible to assess fully the risk of reforms in the power industry.

Tests of Fire Extinguishing Means for MV and HV Equipment
Energetyka 2005, No. 7, p. 481,
(Bulletin of Instytut Energetyki, p. 1), 4 figs, 2 tabs
Tests of the extinguishing means (extinguishers, extinguishing units and extinguishing dry powder for filling them) made in the HV Department of the Power Institute were aimed for defining if they were able for use for extinguishing MV and HV equipment. Test procedures were elaborated in co-operation with Fire Protection Scientific and Investigation Centre in Józefów by Otwock. There were tested so far several dozen of dry powder extinguishers and extinguishing units, few types of carbon-dioxide extinguishers and the extinguishing impulse pistol.

Development of Supply, Control and Monitoring Systems for Electrostatic Precipitators
Energetyka 2005, No. 7, p. 485,
(Bulletin of Instytut Energetyki, p. 5), 7 figs
Presented are objectives of works conducted at present on new remote control and monitoring systems for electrostatic precipita-tors, i.e.: continuous quality increase of precipitator operation i.e. as high as possible their de-dusting efficiency at as low as possible energy consumption for de-dusting process, integration of the precipitator operation with the boiler operation with the use of per-tinent control of the precipitator operation, ensuring the remote control of the precipitator from one or many computers. Presented is development of supply systems for the electrostatic precipitators, micro-processor regulators, measurement systems, superordinated controllers and monitoring of precipitator operation, as well as present development directions of precipitator control, monitoring and supply.

Economic and Ecological Effects of Implementation of Modern Technology in Power Industry (Example of CHP Station)
Energetyka 2005, No. 7, p. 493
Power companies were forced in the eighties of previous age to introduce many pro-ecological projects with regard to expected more sever regulations and standards concerning the environment protection. They could modernise existing equipment or construct quite new plants based on modern technologies. The companies which introduced new technologies achieved considerable eco-nomic and ecological advantages. In those where were introduced for example the fluidal bed boilers there was the possibility to use the fuel of worse quality, considerable cheaper than enriched and de-sulphured fuels. This technology simultaneously causes considerable reduction of the air contamination and contamination of the wastes, so as a consequence it causes considerable decrease of company's payments for the "use of the environment".
