Assessment of CHP Unit with Use of Advanced Procedure of Measurement Data Validation
Energetyka 2005, No. 10, p. 673, 4 figs, 3 tabs, 18 refs
On the base of the algorithm presented in the paper there are elaborated calculation procedures being a part of the computer inspection system of the CHP unit, implemented in the analysed CHP station. This system contains the co-operation procedures with the computer monitoring system, the procedures of numerical calculations and procedures of results visualisation and report creation. In the calculation algorithm of the operational indices an introduction of the electric power generated on the steam stream corresponding the minimum of the condensation to the power achieved in the combination is proposed.
Tests of elaborated programme confirm its full usefulness for the inspection staff of the CHP station operation.

Tests of Insulators and Overvoltage Limiters in Local Testing Station in Głogów Copper Works
Energetyka 2005, No. 10, p. 683, 15 figs, 17 refs
Tests in situ, performed over many years in the natural conditions, are very valuable complement of dirtiness laboratory tests (salt mist method or method of stable layer) or accelerated ageing tests of composite insulators (manufactured for example according to the
IEC 61109 standard). Problems of the dirtiness menace of substa-
tions, tests of porcelain insulators, silicone and fluorourethane
covers and polymer glazes are considered also.

Development of Lifting Machines in Polish Mines from Steam to Electricity
Energetyka 2005, No. 10 , p. 688, 10 figs, 4 refs
A development of the power industry was connected with economic history of our country. For mines first steam machines were constructed and the most modern solutions of the electric drive were designed. An increase of the mine output was dependent on the lifting possibility of the winning in the mine shaft. The drive of the lifting machines and its operational efficacy decides on the mine output.

Establishing the Most Convenient Transformer Geometrical Shapes
Today and 50 Years Ago
Energetyka 2005, No. 10, p. 693, 8 figs, 1 tab., 13 refs
Presented are two manners of presentation by clients the requirements concerning the transformer parameters. Given is one of algorithms which enables searching the optimum in described conditions. Presented remarks, experiences and observations accompanying the optimisation of the electric machines can be a base, as well for further investigation concerning the optimal design of the transformers, as for searching more and more perfect optimisation methods as well.

Insulation Problems as Topics of Transformer Conferences in Łódź
Energetyka 2005, No. 10, p. 701, 7 figs, 1 tab., 12 refs
Transformer conferences in Łódź (first of them was held 50 years ago) were closely connected with the development of Polish transformer industry with ELTA transformer factory in Łódź and it products as a top achievement. Problems of insulation played greater and greater role and it effected with three conferences designed to these problems. In the field of the insulation the burden of problems was shifted from problems of the design and factory tests to operational problems.

Utilisation of the Micro-processor Disturbance Recorder for Assessment of Operation of Turbine Automatic Control and Excitation Systems
Energetyka 2005, No. 10, p. 713, 7 figs, 9 refs
Presented are examples of use of not-typical functions of the recording system installed for the power units in Bełchatów power station. Except of measured - as a standard - phase generator voltages and currents, as well as voltage and current of the excitation system the recorders measure the voltage of 100 Hz pilot exciter installed on the generator shaft and they calculate such functions as the generator active power and reactive power, the rotor rotation speed, the generator power angle, the angle between inner electromotive force and infinite grid. As a result, at eventual failure the same results can be achieved as calculated by the simulation programs used for after-failure analyses, so appears a verification possibility of correctness of the simulation calculations. In the paper there are presented examples of use of these features for the assessment of operation correctness of the relay protection systems, turbine automatic control and generator excitation system.

Security of Nuclear Power
Energetyka 2005, No. 10, p. 719, 5 figs, 46 refs
Poland confronts again with the perspective of construction of the nuclear power station, with reactors of the newest generation. In half of previous century many questions were asked and many objections were presented against nuclear power; they must be answered before the construction of the nuclear power station is agreed. In the paper discussed are following problems: the dose reduction around the nuclear objects, harmfulness of small dose radiation for health of the people, exploration of the people in regions with higher radiation background, achievements in investigation of biological processes of the people after radiation, reduction of the menace in the case of the failure in the nuclear power station.

Renewable Energy Sources and Nuclear Power Competitiveness whether Complement?
Energetyka 2005, No. 10, p. 725, 12 refs
Presented is an approximate picture of Polish power industry in 2025; it arises from this that if the possibilities of the renewed energy sources are even fully utilised, it will not be enough for fulfilment the requirements of the E.U. access treaty. Following conclusion is drawn out from it: the nuclear power is not a competitor for the renewable energy sources, but it is rather an aiding option; it enables to compensate higher costs, especially of the wind power and to decrease mean costs of the electricity generation. It positively influences the competitiveness of Polish power industry and that is superior economic objective.

Nuclear Power: Majority - pro!
Energetyka 2005, No. 10, p. 728, 2 figs
Presented are results of investigations concerning the opinion of Polish society on the utilisation of the nuclear energy, especially on the nuclear power stations. They prove that opinions of Poles concerning the utilisation of the nuclear power in our country are changing and the number of people inclined to allow in Poland the construction of the nuclear power station predominates the number of opponents of the nuclear power.
