Experiences from Revitalization of the AP-1650 Boilers in the Kozienice Power Station
Energetyka 2004, No. 6, p. 325, 7 figs
AP-1650 boilers in the Kozienice Power Station are the greatest ones operating in the Polish power industry. They were made by the RAFAKO (Poland) in the years 1977-1979. Technical data of the boilers and the scope of their revitalization are given in the paper Discussed are also design and operational problems for these nodes, which in the beginning period of operation created difficulties and which solution required greater works. They was: steam separation system and water level control in the drum, choice of heating surfaces, steam temperature control. checking system of the flame, oil burners, fuel distribution to the burners and slag crater.

Direct Measurement of the Reactive Energy Excess in the Industrial Plants - Operational Experiences.
Energetyka 2004, No. 6, p. 334, 2 tabs, 4 refs
Variable in the time reactive power taken by "unquiet" customers can be recorded with the aid of an additional recorder. In the paper are compared reactive energy excesses above value corresponding to the coefficient tgj=0,4 recorded by the direct measurement system with data taken at present for account settling with these customers. Compared are also measurement results of reactive energy taken above standards, achieved with the aid of indirect method (commonly used) and the method proposed by the authors of the paper.

Repair In-Situ of Transformer Tap Changers
Energetyka 2004, No. 6, p. 338, 4 refs
Repairs of tap changers operating under transformer load are made more and more frequently in the situ. They are made not only by renowned works but also by distribution companies and power stations. In the paper are presented principles of such repairs and particularrecommendations and means of precaution to be taken during the repairs.

Investigation of Transformer Winding Deformations with the Aid of the FRA Method
Energetyka 2004, No. 6, p. 341, 9 figs, 10 refs
Frequency Response Analysis (FRA) of the transformer windings enable to discover winding deformations, which menace the HV insulation. Discussed are recording procedures of this response, used measuring circuits and interpretation of achieved characteristics. Recorded respon ses for five auto-transformers are compared and using this method there are detected winding failures. Recommendations how to make measurements and how to assess achieved measurement results have been formulated.

Gas-Dynamic Calculations Used in the Power Engineering
Energetyka 2004, No. 6, p. 346, 14 figs, 0 refs
Stationary, one-dimensional, isolated flow of an ideal gas is a subject of the paper. Presented are calculations of: outflow of optional gas from a gas-holder, flow of optional gas in the pipe with constant transversal cross-section, modern atomizer used in the power industry.
Pro-Ecological Co-Generation - Polish-American CHP Station in Chorzów
Energetyka 2004, No. 6, p. 359, 10 figs, 3 tabs
The Board of the Chorzów Power Station plc in 1991 brought into being a new company ELCHO Chorzów CHP Station Ltd. A need of this change arose from the fact that old assets were worn-out and from necessity of limiting pollutants emission to atmosphere, according to the new ecological requirements. In 1996 the shares of the ELCHO company has acquired American Company CEA (later PSEG) An appearance of American strategic partner effected with dynamic development of works tied with the project. As a result of the bid Foster Wheeler company was chosen as the general performer.
