An Overview of Technological Problems of the Solid Fuel Gasification for Power Needs
Energetyka 2003, No. 9, p. 591, 9 figs, 14 tabs, 21 refs
There is proved on examples that gas-steam power units based on the coal gasification are at present prepared for gasification the industrial and municipal wastes. Contamination removal from gas obtained in the gasification process is more simple and more cheap than in the case flue gas cleaning. Fast progress of the gas turbine technology causes that development of the power industry based on gas turbines is advantageous. Joint combustion of the base fuel and gas achieved from gasification of bio-mass and wastes seems to be promising.

Live Line Works on Anchor and Anchor-Angle Supports of the 110 kV Lines in the Toruń Distribution Company
Energetyka 2003, No. 9, p. 602, 16 figs, 1 tab., 6 refs
There is proved that - in order to limit electric energy losses in transmission and distribution grids, to increase the supply reliability, to eliminate superfluous CO2, SO2, NOx emission and to limit cost of protection of all crossed objects - all works concerning the particular insulator exchange and all insulation change of 110 kV lines should be done as the live line works.

Remarks Concerning the Power Investment Process after System Transformation
Energetyka 2003, No. 9, p. 608
In Poland there is lack at present of tradition and experience in the investment activity in market conditions. It concerns first of all the process of bidding and preparing contracts. The necessity of the definition of an investment subject and technical conditions is then not precise defined. Investment conducted with „domestic methods" influence the cost increase, decrease of the solution quality and causes the loss of opportunity for rise of professional level of the staff and loss professional contacts with developed countries.

Arc-Resistance of the MV Switchgear
Energetyka 2003, No. 9, p. 612, 14 figs, 2 refs
Explained is a term "arc-resistance" and criteria and methods of it investigation. Described are switchboards made by the Moeller company, fully arc-resistant (therefore they guarantee security for the operational staff). The switchboard covers manufactured by the Scheidt Polska in Warsaw and Pyskowice are used as an examples of arc-resistant design.

Synthetic Fluids as an Alternative for the Transformer Oil Insulation
Energetyka 2003, No. 9, p. 621
(Bulletin of the ZPBE Energopomiar, p. 41), 4 tabs, 10 refs
Presented are reasons and conditions of use in transformers the synthetic insulation fluids. Properties and operational advantages of particular fluid kinds are characterised. There are touched problems of required tests for the fluid assessment, as technical diagnosis of transformer condition with the aid of DGA method as well.

Relay Protection against Motor Operation of Generators
Energetyka 2003, No. 9, p. 626 (Bulletin of the ZPBE Energopomiar, p. 46), 5 figs, 1 tab., 13 refs
Discussed are aspects of use of relay protection against the motor operation of generators co-operating with various drives and a role of power protection relays as elements of a system of the generator sequence switch - off.

Calculation Methodology of Air and Flue Gas Quantity in Coal Fired Boilers
Energetyka 2003, No. 9, p. 633
(Bulletin of the ZPBE Energopomiar, p. 53), 4 figs, 4 refs
For the commissioning (guarantee) tests of power boilers there is used the PN-72/M-34128 Polish Standard or other standard according to the contract for the boiler supply - the most frequently is used the German Standard DIN 1942:1994. These standards in individual manner regulate calculations of the air and flue gas quantities
